Road Dogg Resigns as Smackdown Head-Writer

UPDATE: Brian James is said to be transitioning into a new road agent position with the impending Fox move for Smackdown. Brian’s frustrations have been well noted over the last few months and has led to this being a mutual decision.

Brian “Road Dogg” James has resigned as the head writer of WWE Smackdown Live, as confirmed by Mike Johnson.

Road Dogg had been travelling with the Smackdown brand and heading up creative alongside Stephen Guerrieri, who works out of Titan Towers.

James has been increasingly frustrated at the constant last minute changes being made to his brand, specifically by Vince McMahon before he finally hit “breaking point” at this past weeks Smackdown taping, which Vince was reportedly paying very close attention to.

As of writing there is no confirmation as to whether Brian James will be remaining with the company and transitioning into a different role or not.
